Stand Up! Stand Out! Find Your Voice!

What is your true voice? Do you have a burning passion? Do you have a message to share?

We ALL have a message to share. Some share it powerfully and profitably. Some will never share their message.

Fear, frustration or self-doubt can silence our message.

Let me share the ABCs of finding your true voice and sharing your message, using the whole self approach, your body, mind and soul.

Your voice is unique. It has a sound quality that is all your own, like a fingerprint. We have many thoughts and judgments about the physical sound our voice speaks. We need to find our strong, vital and lively voice tone (body) to be successful. Our voice is our power. Our voice expresses our thoughts, feelings and intentions (mind). Our voice shares our mission, our purpose in life and our experiences. The “Who” we are (soul). Discover your true voice.

Step A: Awareness. Ask yourself the tough questions.

Who am I, truly? What am I here for? What are my dreams, hopes and ambitions?

What have I done in my life that I am most proud of? What is the one thing that is most special about me? What is my message? Write out all of the answers. Take your time with this. If you feel too confused, ask for help (coach, counselor, friend).

The first step is to understand ourselves, become more aware and become conscious of our beliefs about who we are. You Find Your Voice. If we don’t know who we truly are, we will not attract people to our mission, our purpose or to our cause.

Step B: Belief System. Do you truly believe?

You now know who you truly are. You know what you believe. This step is to claim it. We may think and know our purpose, dreams and intentions, but do we really believe it? Do we have any doubt or fear? We can have a meaningful message, yet be too afraid to share it. Do you see yourself as someone who has something important to say? Is what you say valuable, purposeful and meaningful to you, to others? What you say becomes what you Stand Up for. You stand for your purpose, what you want out of life. Do you believe with your whole self? Mind, body and soul?

Step C: Connection.

Next step, is to Stand Out. You know who you are, you fully and completely believe in your  message and now you need to put your mission into action. We claimed it with our belief, now we make it our own, make it real. How do you share your mission and make it real? By bringing others into your cause. Connecting with others by sharing your message, saying what you believe in and taking action will bring you success. When we find our voice and use it to speak our truth, to create our dreams and set our intentions into motion, we change the world.

This is the first 3 steps to our birthright. To complete our mission here on Earth. To find the courage and clarity we need to change this world. There is so much more to sharing our message, the practical as well as the magical. Let me share more with you, as we change the world. 21 Most Important things to do Networking.

9320371_s

Networking is all about creating and building relationships. It is NOT about selling! Research says the average contact points to make a sale is 17. The probability of you making a sale the first time you meet someone is very low, though it can and has been done. So, stop thinking about selling and start thinking about how you can help the new people you meet. Start creating and building relationships.

Some people love to network and others fear it or hate it. Which are you? Do you like networking, meeting new people, starting conversations with strangers? Are you an introvert or an extrovert? How does that effect your networking?

We think of introverts as being shy and extroverts as being out going. It’s not that simple. Introverts may or may not be shy. Introverts do lose energy when around lots of people. They need to be alone to recharge after being with other large groups of people. Extroverts gain energy when around lots of people. They feel their energy zapped when they spend too much time alone. Brain scans done on introverts and extroverts found that introverts process stimulation (other people, talking, engaging) differently then extroverts. Introverts stimulate through a long, complicated pathway through areas of the brain in the remembering, planning and solving problems parts of the brain. Extroverts have a very quick and short response to stimulation through the brain pathway areas of sensory connection of visual, auditory, touch, smell, taste.

Carl Jung, a great psychoanalyst first coin the terms introvert and extrovert. He said that no one is all, 100% introverted or extroverted. In fact, we are all mostly ambiverts who have both introverted and extroverted qualities. Whether you are mostly an introvert or mostly an extrovert, you can be successful at networking.

Networking is both an Art and a Science. Here’s how to create rich, meaningful and extraordinary relationships while networking.

  1. Say Hello and SMILE-Smiling is engaging. People are attracted to smiles. We have automatic facial feedback and we will smile back when someone smiles at us. Smiling has been found to make you healthier, have less stress and makes you look better, more attractive. Lighter Yoga is very popular because we want to smile, laugh. The average person smiles 20X a day. The average child smiles 400X a day. Research has shown that people who smile more, live longer and are more successful.
  2. When people ask you “How are you” or “How do you do,” say “I’m fantastic!” Or, say “I’m fabulous,” “I’m amazing,” “I’m awesome,” “I’m incredible.” Usually the answer to “How are you?” is “OK,” “Good,” or “Fine.” Answer in an uplifting, happy and enthusiastic way and people will wonder why. It’s a conversation starter.

  3. Remember to listen! Hearing is only listening to what is being said. Listening is also hearing what is not being said. Ask people questions and listen. Thinking about what you’re going to say next is not listening. Be fully present. Use phrases like “Tell me more…” or “Tell me about your business…life…hobbies…what you do for fun…” Be a good listener. Speak to the person’s listening.
  4. Take your time in networking. It’s not a race to meet as many people as you can. One really great, high quality conversation is worth way more than 20 superficial conversations.
  5. Tell personal stories, not just what do you do. Personal stories are more interesting and people will remember you more. Our brains are geared more to remembering stories not facts.
  6. Ask about their families, loves, fun things they do, the most challenging thing they’ve ever done. Ask about the best thing that ever happened to them. Their best vacation. Invite them to tell personal stories.
  7. Conversation starters are can be as simple as asking the 5 W’s Who-What-When-Why-Where
  8. Compliment people with integrity and sincerity. Compliments are also great conversations starters.
  9. Be friendly, encouraging, entertaining.
  10. Look for people who are alone. Go up to meet them.
  11. Talk about the event, the speaker.
  12. Ask for advice. People love to give advice.
  13. Set a goal. Talk with 5 people or 10 or 20. Or, just 1 person.
  14. Organize your own event. Meet up.
  15. Show up early when there are less people present.
  16. Volunteer at the event/meeting. Door greeter, registration desk and food service are all ways to meet people easily and allows you to decide who might be a good fit for you and a later conversation.
  17. Bring your business cards. Make them unique. Maybe a Bookmark, a packet of seeds, a flower or balloon attached to your card. Step out of the box with your business cards.
    45522468_s
  18. Have your 30 second to 90 second elevator speech ready. Make it compelling. Know the problem you solve and the solution. Add something amazing you have accomplished. Practice, Practice, Practice saying it.
  19. Focus on what you can do to help others. Remember the 17 contacts. This is only the first. Build your relationships.
  20. Be prepared. Know who who will be there. What the organization is about. When and Where it is and why you are going. Look up the organizers on LinkedIn and get to know them in advance. Dress professionally.
  21. Follow up. After networking, follow up with everyone you talked with. Write notes on the back of the business cards you receive, so you can remember the person and what you asked about. Give a personal account in the followup email of what ou talked about. Invite them to something. A different networking meeting, blab, Facebook group or coffee.

Depositphotos_7088254_xsWoman Entrepreneurs -The Beginner’s Guide To Entrepreneurial Success

Do you want to know the 3 simple beginner steps every woman entrepreneur needs to know to start and grow a profitable business?

If you’re a Woman Entrepreneur who wants to start and grow a profitable business without letting lack of knowledge hold you back, then you need to read this immediately.

Your 3 Beginning Steps

Step #1: Protect Your “Getting Started” Schedule

IMG_3920

Here’s what will happen if you don’t protect your “getting started” time:

You’ll never get started and your dream will remain just that – a dream.

While that may sound harsh, it’s simply the reality.

If you don’t protect your “getting started” time, there will always be something, someone, someone else’s need, an “emergency”, or just plain old procrastination, to keep you from starting your new business.

Block out your “getting started” time and then protect it, ferociously.

Step #2: Create your support team

IMG_0764

Launching a new business without a team in place greatly increases the chances of your dream not coming true.

Just like launching with your team in place greatly increases your chances of success.

An important task is to create 2 lists:

– A list of what you know and what you are skilled at doing

– A list of what you do not know and what you’re not good at doing.

Build your team with people who are:

1) Good at what you are not, and

2) Enjoy doing what you hate to do.

Step #3: Don’t go it alone – get a coach who can walk you through the process

Attachment-2

You can reinvent the wheel, but why?

Going it alone is a prescription for failure.

One of the greatest values of having a coach is they are someone who has “been this way before” and can take years off your learning curve.

Having someone else’s eyes on your business is invaluable, because as talented as you are, there are things you cannot see that a great coach will.

3 Super Smart Steps for Attracting Clients

IMG_3671

You know you’re smart, that you’re really good at what you do, but you just don’t know WHY you can’t attract the clients you need for a successful business.
You work really hard and sometimes work way too much, AND, you just can’t figure out why you have few or no clients.
If YOU want more clients, needs more clients, you will want to know the FIRST 3 Super Smart Steps to attracting more clients. You CAN have clients who you love and who love you!

Step 1: Make Client Attraction your #1 Priority (not your laundry, not your dry cleaning, not your best friend who calls you with their partner problems, not your OWN partner problems and not your volunteering, working overtime, etc.)
Ask yourself. What’s taking up my time now? You may be surprised how much time you’re spending outside your business. And, how much time you’re marketing. To attract clients, you need time for marketing. A mentor once told me that to be successful in your business you need to spend 4 hours a day, 2 at a minimum on marketing. You say you don’t have time to market, than you won’t have clients. Find the time for marketing.
Avoid Drips and Slips. Drips are the negative people in your life. A drip is a friend or family member that calls you up every night, expecting you to provide them free therapy. The friend that always forgets something or repeatedly asks you to pick up their child. They suck the energy right out of you. Set some strong boundaries with these folks. The slips are the shiny objects like social media, TV and romance novels, the BIG distractions! Make client attraction the greatest of importance.

Attachment-2
Take Action:
I invite you to keep track of a full week, that’s 168 hours. Note down each hour in your calendar book what you did. Then, create a chart. Find your drips, slips and cracks. It might mean giving up that position with the PTO or PTA, with the Scouts, secretary for your church. I know this sounds almost cruel, but it’s only for 6 months or a year, to really get your business going. If you already work full time, block out time each day to work on your business, even if it’s only 10-20-30 minutes. It will take you a bit longer at this pace, but well worth it. You have to make time for marketing, if you want to attract clients.

Step 2: Prioritize Your Daily Tasks.
Now, you know how you are using your time, you need to set up a priority system for client attraction. The first system I use is the 123 Priority System, before 11 am. Each day before 11 am, I complete the three most important marketing tasks of the day. Is it phone calls? Is it writing a blog? Remember your marketing plan? What do you need to be doing to attract more clients? Brian Tracey wrote a great goals book called “Eat the Frog.” Of course, no one wants to eat a frog. In it, he suggests you complete the thing (that frog) you most do not want to do and do it first thing in the morning. Get it done and over with. For example, hate cold calling? Do that first. Done! And, it won’t be hanging over your head all day as you avoid it.
Next, I use the The Franklin Covey System to prioritizing my day. I often do this the night before. It works like this…Make out your “To Do” task list. Then, categorize by A, B, C.
A-I must get this done today
B- It’s important to get done today
C-Maybe it can wait a few more days
Go back and prioritize the A’s Give them a number. (Number 1, first to do, number 2, second to do, etc.) You finish by numbering all your tasks in order of importance, all the A’s, B’s and C’s.
For example:
A1 make 3 cold calls by 11 am.
A2 meet with client, by 11 am.
A3 go to networking meeting at noon.
B1 write a blog.
C1 pick up dry cleaning, etc.
It is also important to cluster your activities for more productivity and for effective efficiency. For example Tues/Thurs meet with Client days. M/W Be on Live Stream days. F/is your Personal Day. M/W mornings are for marketing. M/W afternoons are for Administrative tasks.
*Be sure to schedule time off and daily self-care time.
Block out your time each day with marketing tasks first and attract your clients.
Take Action:
Schedule your next work day using the Covey Method and the 1, 2, 3 Priority System before 11 am and see your results. No more random task doing, have a plan and do it!

Amazing

Step 3: Be Seen. Be Heard. Be Everywhere.
You’ve heard of the saying “You got to pay to play.” Well, the client attraction saying is “You got to PLAY to get PAID.” You will attract clients when you network, follow up with potential clients, make cold calls, write warm letters, write a blog, be on live streams, do presentations, workshops, seminars and webinars. And, have a plan, a strategy and a regular schedule for attracting clients on Social Media.
It can be overwhelming to be seen, be heard and be everywhere. Start with what you know best. Are you a great speaker? Are you a great writer? Do you enjoy posting and engaging on Social Media platforms? Know who your ideal audience is and where to find them. Create a marketing plan to attract the clients you will love and who will love you (not just anybody).

Ask for help! Your family, friends, clients, past clients, your dentist (yes, your dentist!), everyone you know are referral sources for your business. Start handing out business cards and having real conversations with people, they might be a potential client or know someone who would be the perfect client for you, who really needs your help. Tell everyone you know that you are in business and need their help with referrals. People love giving others their advice and help.

Take Action:

Set a timer for 30 minutes and brainstorm specific people who might be a referral source. (Again, that’s everyone you know, just order them in priority). Set up a time to meet with the top 10 people and ask for help. Do they know any potential clients for you? Do they know the best groups in your business for you to speak at, attend or network?

Plan

How to wake up bright, cheery and full of energy! Are you kidding me?

Picture3Every day, some people wake up feeling lethargic, cranky and tired. Sometimes, it may be hard for you to just open your eyes and face the day. Maybe you have feelings of overwhelm, play at procrastination or you really have too much to do. Or, maybe you just got too little sleep staying up late watching TV. The way to “wake up” ready to take on the world is to create a Morning Success Ritual, just for you.

Let me tell a short story about two friends who did.

Meet Kelly and Kristen.

They both want to be healthy, feel good and have time for their families, for work and for their own self-care.

Our friend Kelly is feeling stressed out and half-crazy with worry.

Our other friend Kristen feels calm and confident.

Why the big difference between them?

It’s simple, really…

Kelly is trapped by the belief that she has so much to do, she can’t get it all done and she feels overwhelmed.

She can’t see a way past her problem.

But Kristen took a different path.

She discovered that starting a Morning Ritual of Motivation and Movement, she could ignite her energy, blast into her day, fully charged and ready to take on the world.

She felt bright, cheery and full of energy.  She prepared for her day in mind, body and spirit.

So, how do you create your Morning Ritual of Movement and Meditation?

Here are 3 SMART tips to start your day, so you can:

  • have more time
  • have more energy
  • have more success in your business and in your life

Tip #1   Move Your Body:

After getting up and doing all the necessities, wake up your body. First thing is to drink a full glass of water or two. Hold off on the coffee or tea until after your Morning Ritual. Get energy and enthusiasm flowing by taking a walk, doing a yoga video or do some gentle stretching. Just get moving, sending all that blood to your brain to wake you up. Dancing around the house, taking the dog for a walk or practicing Tai Chi are all great ways to wake up the body.

Tip #2   Clear the Mind

Do you feel fuzzy when you wake up? Often, people do. Now, it’s time to connect the brain to the body. One way is to read the news, watch a TV morning show, check your email or social media. If that works for you, go for it. Another way is to watch a motivational video, read a motivational book or write in a personal journal. You can use meditation to clear and focus the mind (that’s another whole blog post). Just sitting for a few minutes, being conscious of your breath will help clear the mind. One client that I have wakes up and plays ping pong, batting the ball against a backboard. He says it helps him focus for the day. Find your way, what works for you?

Tip #3   Connect with Self and the Greater Self

Use some affirmations and mantras to connect with that power, that energy greater then ourselves. For some, prayer is the way they start the day. Guided visualizations, specific meditations and sitting outside in nature will help connect us to that power greater than ourselves. Taking time to set goals, intentions and your schedule is also a way to connect.  Find your way. Create a Morning Ritual that wakes up mind, body and spirit. Find your success by getting in the flow. No better way to do that then a Morning Ritual.

Practice these tips and YOU WILL begin to live, really live and have an exciting, fun and luscious life.

Best of all, Kelly was able to start seeing AMAZING results from her Morning Ritual  almost immediately and there was no cost.

So what’s the moral of the story? It’s simple.

Don’t be like Kelly… Be like Kristen!

And, now it’s your turn. Start YOUR Morning Ritual for successful healthy living.

Put some movement, meditation and magic into your life! You can stop being cranky and tired and needing that extra cup of coffee. Start your day full of energy, ready to take on this world and really make a difference.

YOU WILL be surprised at the results! Think good. Feel good. Do good.
