3 SMART BUSINESS INVESTMENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE

I get it. You’re a solo-preneur. You are your own business.

You’re proud of the fact that you’ve bootstrapped your business from the ground up, tackling every task that comes your way. You built your first website, dove in and learned how to edit and upload videos to YouTube, figured out how to format your email newsletter, and even wrestled your shopping cart into submission.
But that feeling of pride that comes from doing the work yourself comes with a price.

Too many small business owners are working too many hours, suffering from burnout and frustration—not because they’re not good at what they do, but simply because they’re unwilling to truly invest in their business.
They’re letting a scarcity mindset prevent them from taking the steps—and making the investments—that will have a massive impact on their business. And maybe you are, too.

Outsourcing

By far the biggest objection to outsourcing you’ll hear is “I can’t afford it.” Perhaps you’ve heard—or even said it. But the fact is, if you’re a serious business owner, you can’t afford not to outsource.

The time you free up by not doing those mundane, everyday tasks is time you’ll spend more profitably by:

• Creating new coaching programs.
• Upping your content marketing game.
• Recording video and audio content.
• Connecting with your audience through email and blogging.
• Working with clients either one on one or in a group setting.
• Or just enjoying your life!

Outsourcing should never be looked at as an expense. In fact, if you’re not getting a return on your outsourcing investment, take a hard look at what you’re outsourcing and to whom, because there is likely plenty of room for improvement.

Automation

Most online business owners start out using low-cost tools with limited features. For example, you might be using PayPal exclusively for product sales, and manually adding buyers to your mailing list each time you receive a payment. While that’s an acceptable solution when time is easier to come by than money, you’ll quickly outgrow it.

The problem is, too many entrepreneurs fail to recognize the benefits of true automation.
Not only is trying to “make do” with a pieced-together system costing you sales, but it costs actual dollars, too. You (or your VA) will spend extra time simply getting it all to work, rather than letting the tools do the heavy lifting.

Recognize when it’s time to up-level your marketing tools to include true funnel automation, and watch your income increase dramatically!

Coaching

It is possible to build your business solely on your own. You can pay attention to what others are doing and reverse engineer their systems. You can read books and blogs and maybe invest in a few carefully chosen training programs.

But there will come a time when your growth will flat line, and you’ll struggle to reach that next level. That’s when it’s time to invest in coaching. And yes, even coaches have (and need) coaches. A coach can help you see past your own blind spots, work through the blocks that are holding you back, and build a business you love—on your own terms.

Don’t be afraid to invest in your business. Wise investments such as coaching, automation, and outsourcing will pay for themselves many times over.

21 Steps to Make More Money in Your Business

What if you had the mindset of Oprah Winfrey?

How do people become successful? It’s all about YOUR mindset.

Think you can and you will. Think you can’t and you won’t.

I have 3 (S)HEros who I admire and all have a success-oriented mindset.

Let’s start with Oprah Winfrey.

She is the first African-American billionaire, a media giant and a philanthropist. Oprah Winfrey is best known for hosting her own internationally popular talk show, “Oprah” for 25 years. She left the show to launch her own TV network, OWN.

She is a TV host, actress, producer, philanthropist and entrepreneur. She had a tough early life suffering from sexual abuse as a teenager. She was able to overcome that situation and entered Tennessee State University. After college, she began working in radio and television broadcasting in Nashville.

She launched many authors with her Oprah's Book Club and created the O Magazine.  She created the Oprah's Angel Network which has raised more than $50 million for charitable programs, her favorite being girls' education in South Africa.

People love Oprah Winfrey's open, warm-hearted personal style. She is an amazing success. Her intuitive, goal-focused and hard-working mindset has created her incredible success.

Mother Teresa

Now, I know Mother Teresa has her critics and I did not agree with all that she believed in. Yet, she was an extraordinary woman. She had an astounding mindset.

During her lifetime Mother Teresa became famous for dedicating her life to caring for the poor and dying in the slums of Calcutta, present day Kolkatta. In 1979, she received the Nobel Peace Prize for her care of the poor. She donated all of her Nobel Peace Prize winnings to the destitute. After her death, she was canonized as Saint Teresa. Becoming a Saint, winning the Nobel Peace Prize is pretty successful.

Mother Teresa was the founder and leader of the Order of the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic congregation of women dedicated to helping the poor. The Missionaries of Charity is one of the world’s largest and most successful organizations. Since being founded in 1948 by Mother Teresa, her organization has raised millions of dollars. It has over a million volunteers in more than 100 countries. The Missionaries of Charity is still one of the most recognized brands in the world.

She was an incredibly successful business woman. There is a great business book Mother Teresa CEO written by Ruma Rose and Lou Faust. In the book, are the 8 “Teresa principles” which I love:

“dream it simple, say it strong”

“to get to the angels, deal with the devil; wait, then pick your moment”

“embrace the power of doubt”

“discover the joy of discipline”

“communicate in a language people understand”

“pay attention to the janitor”

“use the power of silence.”

These are all monumental mindset traits.

Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt changed the role of the First Lady through her active participation in American politics and her involvement in the U.N.'s Human Rights Commission. She was the first, First Lady to be so active outside her uxorial role.

As the wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, she had a world stage and she used it to become one of the most successful First Ladies in history.

She advocated for human and women's rights, held press conferences and wrote her own newspaper column. Eleanor focused mostly on helping the country's impoverished. She stood against racial discrimination. She traveled abroad during World War II, to visit U.S. troops. She was vocal, visible and valuable in changing the world in the turbulent time of WW II.

Let me share some Eleanor Roosevelt quotes that give clues to HER mindset.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

“You must do the things you think you cannot do.”

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”

“Women are like teabags. You don’t know how strong they are until you put them in hot water.”

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't.”

“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.”

Notice the traits each of these remarkable women have. The three traits I notice the most are:

  1. Believe in your dreams and believe in yourself.
  2. Don’t let Fear stop you.
  3. Embrace your strength and speak up.

Change your mindset, strengthen these traits and you will be successful in all that you do.

#1 Productivity Pitfall is Wishful Thinking

Avoid the #1 Productivity Pitfall.

Stop Wishing, Make It Happen and Be More Productive!

Wishful thinking gets nothing accomplished and productivity stands still. Another year goes by, but yet the changes you wanted to occur, did not.

Whether it be that new year’s resolution to lose 25 pounds that you never quite achieved or earn more and be able to discover the financial security you yearn for, it can be quite de-motivating to not achieve your wishes year after year.

Luckily, with each new day comes the promise of a better day; the chance to actually do something that brings you closer to your objective, instead of just wishful thinking. Ready to follow these proven guidelines, and make tomorrow your most productive day yet? Let’s go!

Decide What You Want

From the inception, this is where many people get it wrong. It is near impossible to achieve multiple goals, pulling you in different directions all at the same time. Have ONE goal at a time.

Find Your Motivation

What is your motivation? Your WHY for the goal. Know this and you will be much more productive.

Write It Down- Set Goals

Always write down your goals. Research always shows that goals written keep you on target and you are 85% more likely to complete the goal. write down your goals and place it in a location where you will look at it every day will keep it at the front of your mind.

Make Yourself Accountable

Do you ever notice the extra effort you put into getting your goals accomplished when you announce your goals to a group of people?

Set a Deadline for Your Goals.

A goal without a deadline is for the most part, useless. It’s the equivalent of wanting to make a house, but with no particular time frame in mind. Would you find it acceptable for it to take 35 years to complete a modest 3-bedroom home?

Nobody in their right mind would and is exactly why you must schedule your goals. It may be a bit difficult to estimate a completion time, but find what pace you are comfortable at, and go a bit over it. If your goal is doing a book, and you can comfortably write 500 words a day, aim for 750. This will leave you feeling driven, in that you are capable of much more than you thought.

Conclusion

Make tomorrow your most productive day ever! Start making small but significant changes today, and work consistently to achieving your goals.

A year from now, you will look back in awe of your accomplishments!

Increase your Productivity, 7 more ways to be productive!

Always on the lookout for more ways to increase my productivity, to streamline my business and life. Here are 7 MORE ways to be Productive! Let me know in the comments, if these help.

  1. Try Coach.Me

An easy way to analyze your daily habits is to use the free Coach.me habit tracker app. No more keeping time sheets, or writing in notepads. No more journaling your habits.

It’s available for both Apple and Androids, so you can auto-track yourself anywhere.

Now that’s productive!

  1. Break Major Goals into Tiny Bites

It’s far easier to reach the other side of the country one step at a time, rather than focusing on how far away and unreachable it feels.

Celebrate each step, and celebrate key milestones along the way even more. And remember that even the most famous musician in the world had to learn to keep at it, and learn one lesson at a time.

  1. Twenty-Minute Naps Boost Productivity

Rather than reaching for another cup of coffee, schedule yourself room for a twenty-minute nap during the day.

The TV show “Mythbusters” tested this myth extensively, and proved that naps of twenty minutes (no more, no less) produced the most optimal results.

  1. Get Up an Hour Early

“If I only had an extra hour a day”, you may have said. So make one! Get up an hour early (even two or three hours early, if you can hack it) and see what you can accomplish when the world is quiet and everyone else in the house is still asleep.

(This is a tip enthusiastically espoused by many proactive millionaires.)

  1. Un-Train Your Brain

We have now hard-wired ourselves, quite literally, to multi-task—something that as of recent years has been venerated.

Psychologists have proved that multi-tasking dissipates energy and makes us feel duller and more confused later in the day. Furthermore, multi-tasking drops IQs by an average of 5 points, according to one source.

Focus on one task at a time, and shut off (and out) all other distractions.

  1. Shop Online as Much as Possible

While shopping may be relaxation for some people, it’s sheer drudgery and time wasting to others. If that sounds like you, remember that even your grocery shopping can be done online (and delivered to your door)!

Keep personal activities that really count and enrich your life—like going to your daughter’s hockey game or going for your morning run—but get rid of the tedious stuff. “Outsource” it!

  1. Keep Things Fun

It’s not rocket science to note that we humans tend to abandon activities or tools that are stressful, difficult or boring. No matter what new habits or tools you decide to use to increase productivity, make sure that you find them easy to adopt—and fun to use.

Productivity is really just another way to make sure your quality of life—as well as your business and your relationships with others—rocks. Being truly productive keeps you energized, inspired and heading straight towards your dreams.

7 FAB IDEAS FOR INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY To Rock Your Business!

Here are 7 fab ideas for increasing your productivity, saving time and making the most of your productivity strategy.

Rock your Business!

  1. Start with the Most Important Productivity Strategy

Before installing any productivity app, tool or resource, first determine which part of your business you need to strategize, prioritize and systematize. Look for the most:

  • Time-consuming part of your business
  • Energy-draining tasks of your business
  • Area of your business where you lose the most money
  • Area of your business that makes you feel as if you’ve wasted hours

Start with a productivity tool that takes care of the most urgent areas—be that scheduling, customer support, billing or all of the above—and fit your solution to meet that need with as few tools—or steps—as possible.

  1. Stop the Endless Cycle

Do you buy course after course, promising yourself you’re going to “master” an area of your business that is not second nature to you? Do you have courses and eBooks on your computer that you’ve never completed (or perhaps never even started?)

These are big clues to your ‘weak’ areas—the ones you should waste no more time on, but immediately outsource or automate.

  1. Learn to be Mindful and In the Moment

If you’ve made a commitment to be more aware of your business overview and vanquish self-sabotaging habits, then pay attention to that commitment. If you find yourself doing time-waster tasks on autopilot, or spending hours trying to tweak one headline, or letting time slip away on Facebook—stop. Take frequent reality checks during the day. Get up from your computer, and take a moment to appreciate the weather outside (bad or good); the comforts of your office; even the fact that you are alive and breathing.

Doing this can help you break bad habits—as long as you make this your new habit!

  1. Underestimate on Purpose

Perfectionists have a lot of bad habits. The worst one? Being a perfectionist! Stop! Keep your to-do list essentials simple: No more than three key tasks per day. Then time those three things; at least for a few weeks.

After you’ve concluded this experiment, start allotting a time frame to each task, based on the actual time-frames.

And if something takes too long? Automate or outsource!

  1. Sync Your To-do List with Your Scheduling Software or Calendar

Reserve some appointment slots for yourself, to accomplish tasks you have to do yourself and for self-care.

  1. Hire a Coach

Solopreneurs and small biz owners often just can’t see the forest for the trees.

Invest in coaching for yourself, zeroing in on problem areas, to increase your productivity in areas you didn’t even realize were problems.

  1. Create Templates and Checklists for Recurring Tasks

Checklists and templates provide a quick way to make sure you create consistency in your content and communications.

They also save time, and allow you to hand off completion to assistants.

Productivity is really just another way to make sure your quality of life—as well as your business—rocks. Being truly productive keeps you energized, inspired and heading straight towards your dreams.
